Here's a little gallery of some more food and drink photos I've taken recently across the Niagara region. All are just quick snapshots

Here's a look at a menu redesign project for Play Urban Cafe. They wanted to maintain their feel of a fun sophisticasual dining and drinks experience, but change things up a bit. Since so many new healthy and vegan options were added to the menu, the layout is open-spaced with plenty of room for feature boxes to highlight health facts etc. With the menu spanning over several pages in a fold-out holder, it was important to keep styling consistent throughout, and have an easy to follow system so that patrons can understand various gluten-free and vegan substitutions. Instagram and Twitter tags were added as well, since foodie pics are bound to happen.

As the new menu launched, I was also able to take some photos of the healthy pub grub for future design use. Shot without lighting or a formal set-up, the photos are done quickly and sometimes produce unique results.

I had the chance to take some more food pics, this time from a fun and experimental summer menu launch. To go along with the food, I thought I'd continue on with some textural explorations, seeing what would compliment the food shapes and styles. More time-consuming than Instagram filters but you can get a lot more creative. All of the images were taken with no setup or lighting and a 50mm lens.

I recently took some more foodie photos for a menu launch. The servings included the complete course from appetizers to desserts, which provided for interesting visual contrasts. I also found it interesting that the foods you thought would photograph quite well, sometimes ended up being not as exciting. I hope to experiment a little with more detailed food staging but for now here are some explorations with texture on top of the photos.
